Courage, purpose, and living in the moment

This July, TPT Wealth had the pleasure of partnering with the Clifford Craig Foundation in Launceston for A Night with Neale Daniher – A Legacy of Courage and Purpose.
The event was hosted by AFL legend and 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher. He was joined by his daughter Bec on stage to share his inspiring story of resilience, determination and hope in the face of Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Life after the game
Neale Daniher’s AFL career is remarkable: Essendon’s youngest-ever captain, a respected coach at Melbourne, and a senior football leader across the league. But his greatest impact came after his 2013 diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease.
Rather than stepping back, Neale stepped up. He co-founded FightMND Australia’s largest independent funder of MND research, which since 2014 invested more than $117.38 million in the pursuit of a world free from MND.
His memoir, When All Is Said and Done, reveals the philosophy that drives him: hold your beliefs to the test of life, and choose purpose and joy even in the face of “The Beast”. Neale’s story is no longer just about AFL; it’s about resilience, courage and using influence for good to spark national change and awareness.
Matt Pearson, General Manager Wealth, said about the event,
“Listening to Neale and Bec was a profound privilege. Their courage, humour, and determination to turn a devastating diagnosis into a movement for change, exemplifies the best of the human spirit.”
